Kwantlen Polytechnic University

Kwantlen Polytechnic University has partnered with the BC Lung Association to work on reducing student tobacco use.

Tobacco-Free Post Secondary Initiative

Post-secondary schools across the province are tackling tobacco with support from the BC Lung Association. A joint initiative between the Lung Association and the BC Healthy Living Alliance, the Tobacco-Free Post-Secondary Initiative supports universities and colleges to create healthier campus environments by reducing exposure to second hand smoke, educating the campus community and increasing access to quit support resources.

Young adults aged 20 to 24 have the highest rate of smoking in the province, followed by 25 to 29 year olds. By working with universities and colleges to identify and address gaps in their current tobacco policies and quit support services, the Lung Association is helping these schools create healthier learning environments for BC's bright young minds.
