BC No Smoking Signage

Official City of Richmond Signage

As approved by the BC Government and the City of Richmond.

In addition to NEW BC Tobacco Law restrictions, the following Richmond Health By-laws further restrict smoking in Richmond:

  • Smoking is prohibited: Within “customer service areas” (i.e. open patios) of food and/or liquor establishment effective March 2009.
  • Within 6 metres of an entryway, opening window or air intake of a building (including apartments and condominiums) effective March 2009.
  • Within 6 metres of the perimeter of a customer service area effective March 2009.

Signage is required to be posted indicating the applicable smoking restrictions. For more info please review the following document pages 16 through 18 or call City of Richmond at 604.276.4000.

for posting near ALL public and workplace doorways. Smoking is prohibited within six metres of any entryway, openable window or air intake of a building.
