Superstar Sun Runners Raise Funds to Fight Lung Disease

A committed group of British Columbians, with a goal of raising funds to tackle air pollution and lung disease in BC, participated in the Vancouver Sun Run on Sunday morning.

Each member of the 70+ Lung Association ‘Sun Run SUPERTEAM’ committed to raising a minimum $100 for the cause. Total dollars raised to date are nearing $10,000, with post-event fundraising continuing until May 15, 2007.

"We had people of all ages and abilities join our Superteam this year in the Vancouver Sun Run", said the Lung Association's Jessa Blades, SUPERTEAM organizer.  "It was fantastic having so many people participating for healthy lungs and clean air."

The BC Lung Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating lung disease. One in five British Columbians has a respiratory problem. The association - with the support of initiatives like SUPERTEAM - is there to help through research, education, and support for people with lung disease and their loved ones.
