You may already know about our Stairclimb for Clean Air blog, 739 Steps. It's the best way to keep up-to-date on what we're doing in preparation for Stairclimb, pick up some useful training and fundraising tips, and meet some of your fellow climbers!

We publish new posts every few days, so make sure to stop by and check it out - and say hi or leave us a comment! We love hearing from you!

CLIMBING WITH KALEV
To help whip you into shape, fitness pro Kalev from Kalev Fitness Solutions will be providing tips and tricks to help you train effectively! Here's your third tip:

Incorporate squats and single leg step-ups on a bench or stairs. This will help strengthen your legs, increase your endurance and get your heart rate up as well. Go for high reps on this one so you can really feel the burn!

You can do this in the gym or on your own. For example, you can use a park bench or any indoor or outdoor set of stairs. Once you've got the hang of it, you can increase the intensity by adding weights, like dumbbells or a medicine ball.

Don't forget to follow Kalev on Twitter (@kalevfitness) for a daily dose of fun fitness updates!

FUNDRAISING
Have you ordered tickets for our pub night yet? It's an easy way to fundraise - and have a fun night out with fellow climbers and the whole BC Lung Association team organizing the event! Tickets are $20 each - but for every ticket you sell, $10 of that goes into your fundraising total. Tickets are limited, so email Sophie (stairclimb@bc.lung.ca) now to get yours!

Need more inspiration? Consider organizing a Take the Stairs Day at your office. It's a great way to fundraise, spread the word about the event and cause - and maybe even add a member or two to your Stairclimb team! We've got materials prepared for you that make it super easy, so click here to find out more and print posters, elevator passes, money jar labels - and more!
