“From Good Intentions to Proven Interventions: Effectiveness of Actions to Reduce the Health Impacts of Air Pollution”
Worldwide, many initiatives have been launched in an effort to reduce the health impacts of air pollution. But which ones are effective?
Please join us in Vancouver on March 26-7, 2009 for the 6th Annual Air Quality and Health Workshop, where internationally-recognized experts will present a range of strategies, from individual actions to regional policy initiatives, that have been shown to protect population health.
We invite researchers, policy makers, health care practitioners and non-governmental organizations to attend . The two-day event will feature presentations providing in-depth assessments of a variety of individual and community-level approaches for reducing air pollution impacts. Attendees will gain a better understanding of how effective these interventions are in mitigating the health impacts of air pollution, and will have an opportunity to consider their implications for policy and practice.
The focus of the workshop is to provide a forum to discuss the current evidence regarding actions that effectively reduce the human health impacts of air pollution. The opportunities to reduce these impacts range from community air quality management strategies to individual actions to reduce exposure or biological effects.
